Foundation: Alima Pure and Vapour Beauty

In my last mini haul from I Am Natural Store, I purchased two new foundations, one from Alima Pure, and one from Vapour Organic Beauty.

 I had used up my samples of Vapour foundation and was basically having withdrawals from it, yep that good, so it was definitely a product I had to add to the collection. I chose the stick version over liquid for the simple reason that it is more convenient, and less likely to waste product. As for the color, 120 is pretty much spot on for my skin tone, although i easily get away with one shade darker. It blends out perfectly, doesn't make me look pasty or washed out, and is somewhat nourishing at the same time. It is on the more expensive side, and i'm not sure how long it will last with daily use, but it truly is a fantastic product and I think its worth spending more on a foundation seeing as it makes up the base of your look. Vapour also has 11 shades of foundation which means you're more likely to find one that suits you.

$44.00 for 9.65g

I took a guess with choosing this shade based on those I had sampled in the past, and 3.5 seemed like it would be perfect. In comparison with Vapour 120, Wheat 3.5 is rather pale and more pinkish, and makes me look fairly washed out, so I only wear this when I have my Vapour foundation underneath as together, the color of this isn't so pale.
I was using HoneyBee Gardens Pressed Mineral Powder in Supernatural, which was a perfect match, but I ran out and decided to give Alima Pure a try instead. The foundation itself is a great product, it blends well, the coverage is buildable, and comes in a fantastic range of shades, next time I will give Beige 4 a try I think.

$28.00 for 7.5g

Alima Pure Swatches

Many many months ago I purchased some samples of Alima Pure and completely forgot to do a post on them so I thought I should get onto it.

{Satin Matte Foundations: Neutral 2, Neautral 3, Cool 3}

{Belize Bronzer, Luminous Shimmer Blush: Freja, guava, Plush, Satin Finishing Powder Keiko, Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow Dream}

I also got a Satin Matte Foundation in Cool 4 but I have used it so I couldn't swatch it ~_~

The Belize bronzer and Dream eyeshadow were actually free which was nice, I honestly haven't used the bronzer though, i'm a bit scared to think of what I would look like if I even tried haha.

I have used the Freja blush the most, it's a nice soft shade, but the others are nice too. Dream is a good colour for highlighting the eyes.

Neutral 3 and Cool 3 also suited my skin tone with just a tiny bit of difference.

Be Mine

Today I wanted to do a Valentine's Day inspired look, and I think it turned out surprisingly well. Sorry for the bad lighting, the weather is being very un-summery lately and these were the best shots I could get.
To start with I cleansed and moisturised my face with some coconut oil, then applied  Alima Pure Semi Matte Foundation in Neutral 3.

I then applied rms beauty "un" cover-up in 11 under and on the inner corner of my eyes to lighten them.

Next I applied a line of Madison Street Beauty eyeshadow in Redcurrent (deep pinkish red) along my upper lashline, going thick at the outer corner with a slight wing, then used Madison Street Beauty eyeshadow in Cherry Blossom (medium pink and one of my favourite eyeshadow's) over my lid, blending to just above the crease and to the tip of the wing. I then dabbed a little Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Dream in the inner corner to brighten my eyes more, blending it into the pink a little.

I applied a thin layer of Larenim Mascara in Black, only to define my eyelashes, not making them to overpowering, and lined the waterline's with Couleur Caramel Eye and Lip Pencil in White.

Next I took a little bit of Alima Pure's Luminous Shimmer Blush in Freja to the apples of my cheeks, just enough for a subtle flush of colour.

Lastly I applied a light layer of Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi Use in Spark to my lips followed by a few dab's of Neal's Yard Lipgloss in Clear, then I blotted my lips to make it seem more like a natural tint to my lips.

I wanted to go for a subtle flush of colour and I think this look hit that goal perfectly, a look I may just go for on Valentine's :)

(sorry for the terrible angle, I was trying to capture the colour's better)

Beauty Look 2

This look is not something i'd usually wear...ever, but I love the colours and wanted to try something a little more dramatic.

To start with I applied Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation in Cool 4 all over my face, followed with Alima Pure Satin Finishing Powder in Keiko.
Next I applied UNE Absolute Blacks Kohl Eyeliner along my upper and lower lashline and on my waterline. Then I curled my lashes and applied a layer of Larenim Mineralash Mascara in Jet Black.
I applied Beneficial Mineral Eyeshadow in Wine Garden over my lid to the socket an along my lower lashline, then I added a bit of Beneficial Mineral Eyeshadow in Wisteria  to the inner corner of my eye to brighten them a bit. I also put a little Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in Dream along my Brow bone to highlight my eyes.
To finish it off, another layer of mascara and a slick of Madara Deco Lips Moonkissed Tinting Lipgloss.
